Book Release | The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo

Synopsis
(from Goodreads)
Dougal Kincaid has something to prove. After being injured in a battle with the Malcontents, he's ready for active duty protecting unsuspecting mortals from these villainous vampires who want to rule the world. But first he has to get control of himself . . . because just the sight of a certain lovely doctor has his injured hand doing some peculiar things, not to mention the sizzling sensation that burns along his dragon tattoo.

Vampires? Vampires?! As a scientist, Leah is having trouble believing that these immortal creatures exist. But there they are, standing in front of her, asking for help in solving a genetic puzzle that can save mankind. There's even one in a sexy kilt! Just one look into Dougal's gorgeous green eyes sets her pulse racing. But can she trust him—and the overwhelming desire that refuses to be ignored?

Tomorrow, Kerrelyn Spark's newest book The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo will finally be for sale! I can't wait to get my hands on it. I tried to get a pre-release copy of it and was denied to my utter frustration. I was able to get her last book the day it was released and was excited to see that her books were back on track, so hopefully this one follows along with that. Books 9, 10, and 11 just didn't seem to be on par with her previous ones.

Kerrelyn Sparks is my absolute favorite vampire romance author. Her plots are typically well written and interesting and don't completely revolve around sex. Some of her stories seem kind of cliche, but with there being thousands of romance novels out there, it can be kind of hard to come up with something completely original. The most cliche thing about her books are probably the title, like the one I'm introducing today. The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo...really?

What I love most about her books though are that the vampires are actually vampires. They aren't some weird modern vampires other than they drink blood from a bottle, but even that's not too strange. How many stories are there were vampires raid blood banks? Not too different. This is one of the things that drives me nuts about Lynsay Sands' books. Every book is a repeat of, "We're vampires! But not really." And don't get me started on the Twilight series!

The other thing I love about her books is that the pages aren't dominated by sex. It's there, but the story actually has a plot to it. There are just too many vampire novels out there that are like, "Oh bite me and have sex with me." Thank you, no.

Check out the other books in Kerrelyn Spark's Love At Stake series.
